Natural rearing is much more than merely a diet, it is a holistic approach to life. It is a lifestyle and a philosophy. It’s a simple way of living. It’s about the old days, caring for your dog according to the rules of nature. It’s about eliminating chemicals and toxic substances from every area of our lives. It’s about avoiding chemical fertilizers and weed killers outside in our environment and using all natural household cleaners, detergents and air fresheners. It’s about Not putting toxic substances in, on or around our pets, just like we should be doing with our human family. This includes flea and tick medications, which are virtually toxic poisons, heartworm medications, routine worming and over vaccinating. Natural rearing is better for the health of our families, our beloved pets, our environment and wildlife.
The foundation of Natural Rearing is building a strong immune system. A dog with a powerful immune system is better able to handle all disease from within. The foundation for building a strong immune system is nutrition. This means feeding a species appropriate diet. Our dogs are carnivores, so therefore they should be eating species appropriate raw meat, bones, glands and organs. They should be getting plenty of fresh air and exercise in the sunshine on a daily basis. They need lots of fresh clean, filtered water all served with a heaping helping of love. When you use natural alternatives to support their immunity you allow each dog the opportunity to live a long life full of vitality and strength which they pass along to future generations to come.
Natural rearing involves a very minimal vaccination protocol or none at all, relying on the dogs own natural immune responses and healing ability to support and see it through a disease cycle, along with the help of holistic medical guidance if needed. This includes the use of herbs, homeopathy, essential oils, acupressure, massage and hydrotherapy. Science is proving that dogs given a very limited amount of or no vaccines at all are far stronger and more resistant to disease than those that have had annual vaccinations. Allopathic methods of treating illness and disease should only be used for trauma, injuries, emergencies and diagnostics.
Natural rearing, just like raw feeding, is not a fad, it is a way of living. Commitment to it for both your family and your pet will change your dogs life for the better and will change your view of the world. Natural rearing is about getting back to basics and the nature of how nature created our canines.
Some people feel that there is no need to follow all of the natural rearing principles, which are also known as the 8 laws of health. They believe that it is beneficial to simply feed a raw diet or to just minimally vaccinate. There is some truth to this reasoning in the sense that if one weren’t doing even one of those things their dog would be much worse off. However, removing any one principle significantly reduces the overall and long term beneficial effects. It is said if you violate one of the laws of nature, you have broken them all.
Every facet must be present for naturally rearing to brilliantly shine like the natural gem that it is.
